Implemented a Green Eerngy Strategy for the Crown Estate and put in place Sky Sparks energy management software to achieve and monitor incremental gains.
The Crown Estate supports the growth of clean, renewable energy offshore, creating
new green space and delivering more energy-efficient buildings. The Crown Estate aims to create
greener, healthier, and more sustainable places for future generations. As part of this
ambition, it has committed to becoming a net zero carbon business by 2030 and, not long
afterward, climate positive.
At its foundation, energy management involves collecting and analyzing data to make
informed decisions on reducing energy usage and costs.
A critical strategy is to create more
energy-efficient buildings within the Crown Estate, balancing energy demand in a cost-effective
and environmentally friendly way.
Energy management will involve users within the Crown
Estate being aware of their electricity consumption patterns and adjusting them according to the
availability and price of electricity. Smart meters, dynamic pricing, and feedback mechanisms
can all help energy users make informed decisions about their energy use.
We adopted a
supportive strategy for energy management, including:
We undertook a six-month green energy project across the Crown Royal Estates. Critical review and solution areas included (i) BMS fundamentals – building management systems controls, (ii) HVAC plant review, (iii) Chiller plant review, and (iv) LTHW plant review. Key functions performed included, ISO 50001 Energy management systems, ISO 5001 Energy management system – energy inspection – energy certification, ISO 9001 2015 Transition training, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 and ISO 45001: Integrated management, ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management system, ISO 14001 2015 Environmental management system implementation, Contract mobilization, Contract resource optimization, and Asset management.
